What is the Big 50/50?

The Big 50/50 is a group of 7 community groups from greater Saint John who have come together to participate in a 50/50 Fundraising initiative. Funds are raised through a weekly progressive jackpot lottery, with the winner taking home 50% of the total jackpot - as long as they have purchased their ticket for that week.

If they have purchased - great! They win half of the pot. If they didn’t purchase their ticket for that week, then their number goes back into the draw for the next week and the money they would have won, is added back to the pot for the next weeks draw. Draws occur every Tuesday at noon!

The great thing about the Big 50/50 is that you aren’t only supporting one community group- you are supporting 7 non-profit/charitable community organizations at the same time!

How do I get a ticket?

  • Grab your tickets from one of our retail locations (click here for the list) or purchase online here.

  • The draw occurs by Random Number Generation software every Tuesday at noon. If something prevents the draw from occuring at this time, the draw will occur at the next reasonable time.

  • If your ticket number was the weeks lucky number and you’ve bought your ticket for that week, we will contact you by phone. If you don’t answer the first time, that’s okay - we will try back until we reach you.

  • Absolutely - we actually encourage it! You can purchase tickets up to a year (52 weeks in advance).

  • Click here to email us to change your contact information.

    It is the player’s responsibility to keep their contact up to date and current.

  • To find out if your ticket needs to be renewed for the next draw, visit our purchasing portal here, click Goldrush Player Check and enter your player number.

  • Your ticket number remains in the draw until you ask us to remove it.
